At United Church Homes and Services, we continue to do all we can to minimize the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are following the latest guidance of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, our Medical Directors, state and county health official recommendations and best practices. During this time of uncertainly and rapid change to operating procedures, we remain committed to our mission. The safety of our residents and team members remains our number one priority.
- We know you miss seeing friends and loved ones; we will do our best to keep you informed. The best place to find current information is to check our website periodically for NEWS updates. You may also want to check our community Facebook pages where we highlight special activities that are happening to enrich the lives of those that we serve during this time.
- Visitation remains restricted for essential visits only. Communities have initiated single entry and security stops for anyone entering the campus. Unless deemed essential, guests will be turned away. No contracted staff from outside are allowed on campus unless deemed essential by each states Executive Order as required for care. Family members may drop items off at the entry location and they will be delivered following a “holding” period.
- We are following the Emergency Preparedness plan and all measures are in place to minimize risk. This includes supply inventory, staffing patterns, increased disinfecting protocols, food and water supplies, medication management, etc.
- Following best practices from the CDC, all team members are receiving continuous education on COVID-19 for their safety and the safety of their families. All team members are required to wear masks while in our communities.
- Arrangements have been made within the community for residents to order and pick-up groceries and medications without leaving the premises.
- We understand that connecting with loved ones is incredibly important, and there are a variety of ways you might consider connecting with them. These may include telephone, email, text, or through Skype or FaceTime on a personal device or the phone, which many residents have in their rooms. Let us know how we can help you connect with your loved one or friend.
- Please also know that we are committed to letting you know as soon as possible if we do have a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 discovered at the community where your loved one resides. If a time comes that we do have an outbreak, we will immediately notify and follow the direction of our local public health and state agencies to assist us in minimizing the outbreak.
- The UCHS Foundation Employee Assistance Fund provides support to team members who may face a financial hardship. In addition, the fund will be used temporarily to supplement team gratitude initiatives during the pandemic. Also please continue to note that the Executive Director or Administrator at your UCHS locations may need to impose additional restrictions as necessary at your specific community for the foreseeable future.
