The Willows Supportive Housing Community Celebrates 20 Years

The Willows, a supportive housing community located in Burlington, NC for those 62 years and older, celebrated their 20th anniversary this week. Special guests included Burlington Mayor Ian Baltutis, along with residents, families and friends attended the celebration.

Mayor Baltutis recognized the longest residing residents at the community and congratulated The Willows for their service to older adults in the Burlington area for 20 years. He presenting a plaque commemorating the milestone.

The Willows created a western-type theme to highlight the 20th anniversary festivities.  The celebration included a barbeque luncheon, LuLu the Clown, photo booth and western costume contest. Music for the occasion was presented by the Silver Strings Auto Harp Singers of Burlington and resident, Bonnie Powell. In addition, various senior resource organizations were on hand with exhibits to engage and educate the residents on services for older adults.
