UCHS Selected to Present at National Conference

October 10, 2017

Lee Syria, CEO of United Church Homes and Services (UCHS) and Nancy Beard, UCHS Foundation President, along with two community partners, Joe Beaman and Marcella Schick, have been selected to present at the prestigious LeadingAge Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA in October.

The LeadingAge Annual Meeting and Expo is the nation’s largest annual event for the not-for-profit aging services field.  This year’s meeting themed, Power of Purpose, will offer eye-opening sessions, one-of-a-kind experiences and a shared mission of helping older adults thrive. Through an application process UCHS was selected to share a presentation titled, Community Engagement: Engaging Stakeholders for a Successful Fundraising Campaign.  The presentation will offer critical elements in readying stakeholder confidence, presenting a compelling case for support, and engaging volunteers and board members.  The presentation will be based on practical advice of four members of the UCHS campaign committee including Lee Syria, CEO, Nancy Beard, CDO, Marcella Schick, President of Farr Associates Consulting and fundraising counsel and Joe Beaman, Campaign Chair and board member. A case study of UCHS will be reviewed and will focus on the preparation to launch a successful campaign to support a major capital project.
