Beard Chosen as Conference Presenter

Nancy Beard, President, United Church Homes and Services Foundation, recently presented at the Planet Philanthropy Conference held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, June 17-19. 

            Hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Florida Caucus, Planet Philanthropy provides training, resources and information to those individuals in fund development and fundraising. The conference attracts fundraisers from all over the country and Puerto Rico. On average, over 400 nonprofit leaders from various organizations ranging from social services, education, health, religious, the arts and much more attend to learn about the latest and greatest resources to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Beard's presentation titled, Making Planned Giving Fun, gave the audience a new view of planned giving and the joy of leading donors to legacy giving.   "Planned giving is about giving opportunities to those interested in becoming a part of your organization," shared Beard.  "Any organization with a worthy mission can joyfully share with others the reasons to leave a legacy and have fun doing it."

.           Beard resides in the Lake Norman area.  She is a graduate from Queens University in Charlotte and has earned the CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation, which demonstrates her personal and professional achievement and commitment.  Beard has completed a year long leadership curriculum that concluded with a service of consecration of diakonal ministers, a Christian passion focusing on servant leadership, and most recently earned the Association of Fundraising Professionals Master Trainer designation.
