National Skilled Nursing Care Week wraps up today. Traditionally, the observance begins on Mother's Day and shines a light on the people who live, work, and volunteer in nursing centers. This year's theme is 'Radiant Memories – A Tribute to the Golden Age of Radio,' and it recalls a bygone, beloved era when families gathered together to hear news and entertainment. At last week's LeadingAge North Carolina awards banquet in Asheville, we won this year's statewide award for Workplace Excellence! Our nomination form showcased our interdisciplinary approach to hiring and retention, including the use of internal communication, educational opportunities, and fostering a culture of respect and appreciation.
